Annual Consumer
Confidence Report (CCR)

The
Annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) provides you with
important information about the quality of your drinking water. The
Staff of the Winterport Water District provide a safe and reliable
supply of water every day and we are dedicated to providing the
highest quality of service to meet your needs.
The 2005 testing results show that the Winterport Water District
drinking water meets or exceeds all state and federal requirements.
We ensure
that your water is safe through regular monitoring and testing of
water quality. These tests are conducted by the District's
state-certified operations staff. This report includes the testing
results for your water that have been conducted by the state lab.
Meeting all water quality requirements is the responsibility of the
District's certified water treatment plant personnel, who are
licensed by the State of Maine.
The Safe
Drinking Water Act directs the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
and the Maine Department of Human Services to establish and enforce
minimum drinking water standards. These standards set maximum limits
on biological, radioactive, organic and inorganic contaminants that
may be present in all drinking water.
